Over the past year, our shop Road Glide has been through a serious transformation. What started out as a paint refresh quickly spiraled into a full-blown project with new parts, new performance, and a sharper look that better represents our vision of what a performance bagger should be.

A Fresh Start with Paint

We originally painted the bike in similar colors, but the craftsmanship just didn’t meet our standards. Rather than settling, we stripped it back down and committed to a complete repaint. This became the spark for a bigger overhaul—because when you’re already tearing into the bike, why not go further?

Hand Controls: Precision at Your Fingertips

Ergonomics and rider confidence start with the cockpit. We upgraded the Road Glide with top-tier components from Quick Industries:

  • Top Tree

  • 8" Pullback Risers with Pullback Plate

  • Iron Hold Low Bend Bar

The new setup puts the rider in a more aggressive yet comfortable position, with rock-solid control at any speed.

Engine & Drive Train: Our Stage 2+ Formula

Power has always been the focus of this build, so we went deeper into the heart of the Milwaukee-Eight. What we’ve come to call our Stage 2 + includes:

  • Screamin’ Eagle 64mm throttle body and intake manifold

  • Trask Assault Air Intake

  • S&S complete cam chest kit

  • Woods Performance 22XE cam

  • Screamin Eagle 5.5g/s fuel injectors

  • Wiggers Engineering derby and camchest covers
  • Malparidos 2-1 Titanium Exhaust
  • Don Performance tune

The result? A motor that comes alive at higher RPMs, pulling hard and making the Road Glide feel like a much lighter machine.

On the primary side, we didn’t hold back either:

  • Evolution Industries clutch kit

  • Evolution Industries compensator ramp

Now, a hard clutch kick will have the front wheel clawing skyward. This bike wants to move fast.

Suspension: Back to Öhlins Fresh

The bike was already running Öhlins front and rear suspension, but we took the opportunity to rebuild and refresh them. A well-tuned suspension is what ties all the performance together—keeping the bike stable under power, composed in the corners, and smooth enough for the long haul.

Other Additions:

We upgraded the build with a Speed Dealer billet aluminum swingarm. The unsprung weight savings from the swingarm deliver a noticeable transformation—making the bike feel lighter, more agile, and far more responsive through corners.

We also added Accossato red powder-coated radial brake calipers. Even though the master cylinder is still the stock axial setup (not yet upgraded to a radial-specific unit), the braking performance has already seen a significant improvement in bite, feel, and stopping power.

The seating was refined as well, moving from the BMC “The Wall” to a Le Pera Tail Whip. This change positions the rider squarely in the center of the bike, creating a riding posture that mimics the feel of mid-controls on a bagger, enhancing comfort and control without compromising the aggressive stance.

Final Thoughts

This Road Glide build is more than just parts bolted together—it’s a statement of how far we’re willing to go to chase performance and style. From cockpit ergonomics to engine muscle, drivetrain strength, and suspension finesse, every upgrade was done with purpose.

And perhaps the most important part: everything you see here was built in our private workshop at home. The bike was on a jack lift for 4 months, stripped down to just the frame and engine. It took a lot of patience, plenty of learnings along the way, and the support of a few close friends. That’s what makes this bike more than a project—it’s a labor of passion.

As we reflect on the completion of this incredible build, we cannot help but express our deepest gratitude to our friends, partners and sponsors who made it all possible. Their unwavering support and collaboration have been instrumental in bringing this project to life.
