The Loser Machine Company was founded in 2009 by professional skateboarder Adrian Lopez as a tribute to Southern California counterculture. The brand name originated as an insider phrase among Lopez''s friends in Oceanside; California; who reclaimed the stereotype of being "losers" because they preferred skating; vintage choppers; hot rods; and tattoo culture over mainstream approval.
